Description

This is a framed original oil painting on Claessens portrait-grade Belgian linen – which is a very fine, archival linen, considered to be the best quality material available for artist canvas. The frame is a custom wood float frame, black. 1.5″ deep with a satin finish.

About the art:

The end of the trail on our side of the river opens up to pasture and barn that is part of Celio Ranch. Trees, bushes and willows form a particularly dense corridor leading up to the field, creating a dramatic funnel culminating in red barnwood, orange willows and green grass. Echo Summit hangs above, the steep slope usually densely forested. Since the fire, this slope has changed character in form and colour. Beyond the surface char, from a distance, the trees and earth morph through shades of pink, purple, russet, grey-green and blue as the day progresses. By midday, this kaleidoscope is reflected in the river. Dark rock shadows contrast sharply –  grounding, earthy.
